Defending champion David Palmer will line up against a fellow world number one Thiery Lincou in the semi-finals of the Bluenose Classic in Halifax, Nova Scotia after a comfortable victory over Ong Beng Hee on Friday.
Palmer overcame the brilliant shot making of the Malaysian to win in straight games 11-6, 11-9, 11-3 and move into a semi-final against Frenchman Lincou, who progressed when Azlan Iskandar withdrew injured with Lincou leading 11-6, 11-7.
Hobart’s Aaron Frankcomb, who won a marathon first round match on Thursday, ran out of steam against Daryl Selby, the fourth seeded Englishman winning 11-5, 11-9, 11-2.
Selby will play top seed Peter Barker in the second semi-final.
