Urquhart joins Brown, Grinham in Chennai main draw

New South Wales's Donna Urquhart will play eighth seeded Mexican Samantha Teran in the first round of the Chennai Open in India after beating Indian youngster Anaka Alankamony 11-3, 12-10, 12-10 in the final qualifying round on Wednesday.
World number 21 Urquhart showed her experience in gaining vital game points in the second and third games before downing Alankamony in 26 minutes.
The Indian, who scored a WISPA title on her debut in a tournament at the same courts last October, was gritty as she adjusted to the game of the higher ranked Australian.
Alankamony matched Urquhart point for point in the second and third games but lacked the finish in the dying moments.
Urquhart joins seventh seeded Kasey Brown and third seed Rachael Grinham in the main draw.
