Top seed too strong
07-Mar-2010 - Squash Australia

Malaysia’s world number one Nicol David proved too strong for Australian Kasey Brown in the semi-finals of the Chennai Open squash tournament in India on Saturday.
After winning the Dayton open last week Brown went into the match with some hope of an upset against the Malaysian.
But Nicol showed just why she has been ranked number one for the past four years with a clinical 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 win.
She will play England’s Jenny Duncalf, the only woman to have given her any trouble in the past 12 months, in the final.
“I’m pretty disappointed in the way I played today,” Brown said later.
“I moved from the glass back courts to the all glass court and really struggled to see the ball – as a result, my length was off and I hit many loose balls.
“I also played the wrong tactics in the first game. I tried slowing it down in the second game which was better, but because the ball was flying, I found it difficult to hit a consistent lob.”
Brown now plays a doubles tournament in Chennai before heading to Kuala Lumpur for the KL Open, where she is seeded to meet David in the quarter-finals.
The men’s final will be another Anglo-Malaysian affair when top seed Ong Beng Hee takes on second ranked Jonathan Kemp.
