Alexander into third round

Brisbane’s Jacob Alexander moved into the third round of the individual championship at the World Junior Men's Championships in Quito with a straight games win over Canadian Arjun Gupta.
Alexander downed Gupta 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 and will now play Christopher Jung of the USA.
The other three Australians bowed out but not before putting in strong performances.
Egyptian Marwan El Shorbagy saw off a determined Walter Koteka 11-4, 11-6, 11-4,  Frenchman Damien Volland downed Sam Fife 11-5, 6-11, 11-4, 11-8 and Pakistan’s Waqar Mehboob beat Jack Molloy 11-3, 11-6, 11-7.
