Australians enjoy Hong Kong qualifying success

Cuskelly, from Evans Head in New South Wales, beat India’s Siddarth Suchde in straight games 11-5, 11-3, 11-8 to make his second PSA Super Series tournament main draw in a row after the recent Australian Open.
The 23-year-old, who played former world number one Amr Shabana in Canberra, has drawn another ex-number one, Frenchman Gregory Gaultier, in the first round.
Frankcomb reached the main draw after a marathon five game win over local player Max Lee, the pair slugging it out for 93 minutes before the Tasmanian eventually triumphed 11-4, 5-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8.
He will have to try and recover in time for Wednesday’s first round clash with fourth seeded Egyptian Karim Darwish, yet another former world number one.
Two other Australian men had direct entry into the main draw.
David Palmer has a tough opener against Finland’s Olli Tuominen while Cameron Pilley plays Malaysian Ong Beng Hee.
In the women’s qualifying, Camilleri made short work of Korea’s Yu Ra Choi 11-5, 11-5, 11-1 and will now play 14th seeded Frenchwoman Isabelle Stoehr in the first round.
She joins fellow Australians Rachael Grinham, Kasey Brown and Donna Urquhart in the main draw.
Grinham takes on Malaysian Delia Arnold, Brown is up against Korean qualifier Song Sun Mi and Urquhart plays Denmark’s Line Hansen.
