Davenport, Cardwell are true Masters

Adelaide’s Geoff Davenport has claimed a record-equalling fourth title at the 2010 World Masters Squash Championships in Cologne, Germany.
Davenport, the 52-year-old favourite, defeated Scotland's third seed Alan Thomson 11-9, 11-3, 11-8 in the final of the Men's Over-50 event.
A second crown also went to Australia after former World Open champion and Squash Australia Hall of Fame member Vicki Cardwell beat second-seeded Scot Pauline Douglas 11-5, 11-7, 11-3 in the Women's Over-55 final.
Australia went close to a third title when second seed Marilyn Kennedy just fell to top ranked Englishwoman Averil Murphy 11-9, 8-11, 6-11, 11-5, 11-4 in the Women's Over-60 event.
Other good results on the final day included Michael Brown claiming third in the Men’s Over 55 with a 9-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-6 win over Belgian Nathan Marks and Sarah Nelson finishing third in the Women’s Over 40 division, beating England’s Lisa Cowlard 4-11, 11-4, 12-10, 12-10.
