Brown fires in China

Australia’s Kasey Brown came back from losing the first game to wildcard Li Dongjin to move into the quarter-finals of the China Open in Shanghai.
Li surprised Brown in the first game before the fourth seed recovered to win the match 9-11, 11-4, 11-4, 11-3.
She now takes on Aisling Blake after the Irish qualifier upset eighth seeded Frenchwoman Camille Serme 9-11, 11-7, 11-7, 1-11, 12-10.
The other two Australians in the draw bowed out in tough matches to higher ranked opponents.
Malaysia’s Low Wee Wern beat Rachael Grinham 7-11, 11-9, 11-3, 11-8 while third seed Annie Au of Hong Kong edged past a brave Donna Urquhart 11-4, 8-11, 2-11, 11-9, 11-7.
