Brown into China Open semis
Kasey Brown continued her fine run of form when she beat Irishwoman Aisling Blake in the quarter-finals of the China Open in Shanghai on Friday.
Brown edged a tight first game then powered away with the next two to win 11-9, 11-7, 11-5.
She will play Malaysian Low Wee Wern in the semi-finals following the sixth seed’s marathon 8-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-6, 11-9 win over Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy.
“I knew it was going to be tough against Aisling as she is such a tough competitor,” Brown said.
“So I was fortunate to get through in three and I’m looking forward to doing well on the glass court tomorrow.”
The second seed will be between Englishwoman Alison Waters and New Zealand’s Joelle King.
