Hedrick makes semi-finals

Melbourne’s Rex Hedrick (AIS Scholarship holder) has continued his good form by reaching the semi-finals of the Hibiscus Gardens Open in Brisbane.
Hedrick upset second seed Asyraf Azan 11-7, 11-3, 11-5 in the quarter-finals on Friday, just as he did in the semi-finals of the Australia Day Challenge in January on his way to his maiden tour title.
He will now play another Malaysian, fourth seed Ivan Yuen, in Saturday’s semi-final.
The winner will take on either top seed Nafiizwan Adnan or New Zealand qualifier Evan Williams in the final.
