The City of Kalgoorlie and Boulder Golden Open has come to a close after a 45 minute final between no. 3 seed Ko Youngjo (KOR) and no. 6 seed Mike Corren (AUS).

The first game entertained the local crowd going for 22 minutes with Corren winning 18/16.

The second and third games were dominated by Corren, with some great movement by both players.  Unfortunately for the young Korean, he couldn't get the games back with Corren winning 11/3, 11/4.

With this win, Corren has gained his 5th Golden Open title in his 74th PSA final.  This title comes almost 20 years after winning his first PSA tournament in 1996.  Corren also holds the record for being the oldest player to win a PSA title at the age of 42.

Attending the presentation was WA Minister for Sport & Recreation Mia Davies MLA, Former Member for O'Connor Tony Crook MLA and the Mayor of The City of Kalgoorlie & Boulder John Bowler.

The next Australian PSA tournament is the W5 Sandgate Open on 17th-19th June.  For more information on the tournament, please contact Nathan Turnbull on (07) 3869 0622 or click here
