To everyone in the Australian squash community

This is a crazy and unprecedented time and an emergency for the whole country.

I just want everyone to know that at Squash Australia we have a plan in place to support you.

It has been a tough two weeks with changes made day to day around the country from both Federal and State governments. The Federal government made the decision to close all indoor sports facilities from yesterday and that will have a huge impact on many in our community.

At this critical time there are three things the Squash Australia team are focused on doing:

1 - The first is communicating to make sure everyone in the squash network is connected to the latest news. I would like to thank out State counterparts for sharing some great information in this period and connecting with participants and centre on the ground. We have created a webpage www.Squash.org.au/w/Covid19 which has the latest information, Federal and State government support from around the country.
2 - This will have a huge financial impact on the sport, the centres and the clubs around the country. We r focused on making sure the sport survives this so it can thrive in the future. There will be financial difficulties at every level of the sport and we will also have reductions at a national level but we want to make sure we still deliver services essential for you in this difficult period.
3 - This time can also be a time of opportunity for us to help, support and improve our delivery to the states, clubs, centres and players around the country. We would love to hear from you on how we can deliver information, services and content you need in this difficult time. We are already looking at restructuring the referee and coaching conferences to online delivery live. Please reach out directly to me on [email protected] with ideas.

We want you and your family to be safe and well through this difficult situation.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to support you.

Please stay home, stay safe and make sure we stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus as together that is something we can control.
