Biography:

Cameron Pilley is Australia’s top squash players and a popular player amongst fans of the PSA World Tour.

Born and raised on a squash court, Cameron’s parents played in the local competition several times a week, so it didn’t come as a surprise when he could hit the ball at age 2. He entered his first tournament at age 6, then his parents bought the local family run squash club when he was 8.

His father Steve coached Cameron from when he could first hit a ball, up until he took up a full time scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport in Brisbane from 2001 to 2005. In 2006 Cameron finished runner up in the mixed doubles event, partnering Amelia Pittock, at the World Doubles Squash Championships. His 2008 final performance at the Canary Wharf Classic, where he narrowly lost to James Willstrop, was instrumental in his rise to the World's top twenty.

A proud Australian, Cameron claimed a mixed doubles gold medal for his country at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, this time partnered by Kasey Brown and later that same year, overcame a strong field to triumph at the Dutch Open. Four years later Cameron picked up a second Commonwealth Games Doubles Gold Medal alongside David Palmer.

2015 was a momentous year for the charismatic Australian. June saw him marry Women’s PSA World Tour player Line Hansen, and in December he reached the final of a PSA World Series event for the first time in, at the Hong Kong Open, where he downed Gregory Gaultier and Nick Matthew en-route to defeat against defending champion Mohamed Elshorbagy. This fine run of results helped Cameron qualify for the PSA Dubai World Series Finals in May 2016 where, after another great string of wins, including avenging his Hong Kong defeat to ElShorbagy, Cameron became the first Australian finalist, ultimately losing in a hard fought final to Gaultier.

On three occasions Cameron has broken the World record for hitting a squash ball, his record now stands at a staggering 177 mph.
