Scotland's Angus Gillams (pictured) has been crowned the 2019 Shepparton International Open Champion after a four-game win over Egypt's Moustafa El Sirty in the final on Sunday, August 18.

The win is Gillams 10th PSA title and third in 2019.

Gillams had a near flawless run to the final across the weekend after a 3-0 win over Ali Jafari, 3-1 win over Atticus Kelly and 3-0 win over Joseph White.

The second seed Scot continued his impressive run of form across the open with a 3-1 win over the highly fancied Egyptian.

The result was a tough one for El Sirty who has now lost back-to-back tournaments to Gillams in consecutive weekends, 3-1.

Gillams burst out of the blocks in the opening game with a convincing 11-2 win. El Sirty responded in the second game, powering his way to win 11-7. Gilliams responded with an 11-8 win in the third which was enough to arrest the momentum and push through to an 11-4 win in the final game to take the title.

The pair could very well met again this weekend in Coffs Harbour, NSW in the 2019 Roberts and Morrow North Coast Open.
