Australia is thrilled to announce the official launch of Street Squash, a campaign that encourages squashies to #FindYour30 'Play squash anywhere, anytime!'

The aim is to provide an outlet for squashies to be inventive with the sport in their surroundings during this current period of lock-down across the world and it's an initiative that has sparked interest from players across Australia and overseas.

The focus is to ensure players are encouraged to get their fix of squash anywhere, anytime. With the aid of Squash Australia's custom equipment, players can practice epic shots on the back fence, a brick wall, street sign, carpark, anywhere.

Street Squash helps keep players sharp with their hand-eye coordination skills and still have fun while not even having to jump on a court.

If there is a ball being hit against wall, then it is squash.

Squash Australia is already seeing a spike in new players picking up a racket and a ball for the first time and enjoying an innovative, unique exposure to the game, bringing families together to enjoy the sport.

Squashies are instinctively taking a racket and a ball on their daily walks with family and the dog, looking at new ways to enjoy a few rallies and trying their hand at skill and fitness drills.

Squash Australia's Rod Bannister has spearheaded the new craze and is excited about just how quickly the concept of Street Squash is taking off.

"Street Squash has really taken a life of its own over the past month and I am excited to see people trying new and fun ways to enjoy the game away from the courts during the current period of isolation," Rod says.

"My main focus of Street Squash is for people to realise that they don't need a court to enjoy the game, and that they can take the game outdoors."

Rod says that when it's time to travel again and return to the courts that he still wants to see people enjoy the sport around their home and their travels if they can't get to a local court.

"I want people to instinctively pack their racket and ball, and have a hit wherever they go, and we're already seeing that when people are out exercising during current circumstances."
