Victoria’s very own fourth-seed Taylor Flavell loves playing on home soil.

The 25-year-old said she’s eager to give it her “absolute best” this weekend at the Shepparton International Open.

S&RV Media caught up with the world-number 145 who will feature in the Women’s PSA event, amongst fellow Aussies - Sarah Cardwell (1), Selena Shaikh (3) - and several international rivals including Britain’s Grace Gear (2).

Asked about her preparation, Flavell spoke openly and honestly about her recent struggles with form and getting her body in peak condition to compete at her best.

“I’m (feeling) a bit mixed at the moment, I had a tough one at Bendigo against the number-one seed in the quarters,” Flavell said.

“Then in Whyalla in South Australia I had a pretty tough draw as well.”
